What is collected when you visit JamaicaRepo, who collects it, and what you can do about it.

JamaicaRepo is a free directory of repossessed properties and vehicles in Jamaica. You can use every page without creating an account or giving us your name. This page explains what information is collected when you visit, who collects it, and what you can do about it.
JamaicaRepo (www.jamaicarepo.com) is an independent website run by one individual based in the United Kingdom. It is not a company. For anything to do with your personal information, email contact@jamaicarepo.com.
If you type your email address into the "Get Deal Alerts by Email" box on the home page, it is sent to Mailchimp, the service we use to manage the mailing list and send the digest. We use your address only to send you those emails. Mailchimp also records when you signed up and may record whether emails are opened or links in them are clicked.
We rely on your consent for this. You can withdraw it at any time by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email, or by emailing us. We keep your address until you unsubscribe.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it to reply and to act on what you tell us, for example correcting a listing. We keep correspondence for as long as it is useful for that purpose and then delete it.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, so that we can improve it. When you open a page, Google Analytics collects information such as:
Google Analytics does this using cookies and similar identifiers. The reports we see are statistics about visitors as a whole. We do not use them to work out who an individual visitor is.
What you type into a search box on a listings page, and the figures you enter in the budget calculator, stay in your browser. They are not sent to us or to Google Analytics.
Google deletes visitor-level analytics data automatically after a set period, which is 14 months at most. Summary statistics that identify no one are kept for longer.
Google's advertising script loads on every page, and the site may display advertisements provided by Google AdSense. In connection with those ads:

The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. To deliver them, your browser connects to Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address.
The site is hosted by Netlify. As with any website, the servers that deliver the pages receive your IP address and details of your browser in order to send you the page you asked for.
JamaicaRepo's own pages do not set cookies. The cookies and similar identifiers used on this site come from Google Analytics and Google's advertising service, described above.
This site does not currently show a cookie banner. Google Analytics and Google's advertising script load when you open a page. If you would rather they did not, you can:

These companies are based in the United States and process information there and in other countries. We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to the banks, realtors or other institutions listed on this site.
Most links on this site go to other websites: banks, credit unions, government agencies, and listing sites that hold photographs. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we have no control over them. Some of our links include a short tag that tells the other site the visit came from JamaicaRepo. The tag contains nothing about you.
If you email a bank or realtor using a link on this site, your message goes straight to them. We never see it.

If you live outside the UK, including in Jamaica, you may have similar rights under your own country's law, and we will treat a request from you in the same way.
In practice the only information we hold that identifies you is your email address, if you have subscribed or written to us.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
This site is written for adults who are considering buying property or vehicles. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
